Support
If you should have
a problem with your ImageCopy software, we would be happy to help
you. Please always check first which edition (Standard, Advanced,
Advanced "Recovery Only") and version - which can be seen on the title
bar on the first screen (e.g. 1.6c) you are using. In most cases,
the diagnostic log file that is generated by all the Editions will
help us (start the programm with /x from the command line, then carry
out the copying procedure), to solve the problem. If you wish to give
us the information on a hard disk or the partition layout of a hard
disk, (e.g. disk 0), start the program with
IMAGECPY 0
0 -xi
After writing
the partition information, the program returns to the DOS-prompt.
Please note that when writing a log file, the write protection of
the diskette should not be activated. Please also send the log file
IMAGECPY.LOG with a description of the error, as accurately as possible,
by e-mail to the support
department; we will normally send you a reply within 1-2 working
days. Please do not forget to also specify a telephone number, since
in some cases, telephonic contact can solve the problem faster.
You are also welcome to contact
us by telephone; please note our office timings.

Download
the Updates
Updating an existing
version is quite simple. You can find the necessary information in
the file MUPDATE.TXT, which is located in the zip file to be downloaded,
or further down on this page. A description of the new or modified
facilities in your ImageCopy software can be found in the file README.TXT
(also included in the comPress Informationd Zip file).
Download the
current version 2.6c of ImageCopy
Standard Edition (402k) by clicking, if you already have any
version 2.0 through 2.6b of ImageCopy Standard Edition.
Download the
current version 1.6c of ImageCopy
Advanced Edition (609k) and ImageCopy
Advanced Edition Recovery Only (same update file) with a click,
if you already possess any version 1.0 to 1.6b of the ImageCopy
Advanced Edition (Recovery Only). The latest
operating instructions (zipped WinWord file, 121 KB) of the
Advanced Edition (currently for version 1.03) can also be downloaded.
How
to carry out an update
An existing ImageCopy
program can be updated by downloading the update zip file, expanding
it with PKUNZIP into a temporary
directory to your hard disk and copying the files present in the zipped
file to your original ImageCopy diskette. Ensure that your diskette
drive is the current drive (by inputting A: on the command line) and
start the program UPDATE.EXE. After a few seconds, you will be informed
about the successful termination of the update process and will be
immediately able to start your new ImageCopy version. If you would
like to save space on the diskette, you can delete the filesMUDPATE.TXT
and MUPDATE.EXE. Do not forget to make a backup of your program diskette
with the new ImageCopy version using the program ICBACKUP after the
update procedure. Please note that neither MUPDATE.EXE nor ICBACKUP.EXE
can be run in a DOS box of Windows NT.
Note:
A "major" update (number before "." in the version number is changed,
e.g. from version 1.1 to 2.0) or an update from Standard to Advanced
Edition cannot be carried out in this manner! This major update
must be ordered from your distributor or from demmel products, and
will be shipped on a separate diskette and is not free.
Did you forget
to backup your diskette?
If you have forgotten
to backup your ImageCopy diskette with ICBACKUP.EXE and your diskette
becomes faulty, no problem! If you have to bring your diskette "back
to life", simply load the packed file to the hard disk, expand it
there and call the program ICRESTOR.EXE. All the necessary steps are
prompted by the program. If you update from e.g. version 1.6 to 1.6c
(same version number) you must not run MUPDATE.EXE. Please note that
this program (just like UPDATE.EXE or MUPDATE.EXE) does not work in
a DOS box of Windows NT!
Download the backup of ImageCopy Standard
Edition Version 2.6c or ImageCopy Advanced
Edition or Advanced Edition Recovery Only (common file) version
1.6c now!
