iLCDs Nominated for Product of the Year 2017
demmel products' iLCD with integrated Java Virtual Machine were nominated for the Product of the Year 2017 by the german Elektronik magazine.
demmel products is proud to be a nominee in the Optoelectronics category for the third time now. After a fantastic third place in 2014 and being nominee again in 2015, the iLCD product line with integrated Java Virtual Machine runs for Product of the Year 2017 in the Optoelectronics category.
The reason for being nominated is the latest innovation: demmel products has shown running compiled Java code directly on its iLCDs at the electronica 2016. This worldwide unique feature is enabled by a lean and efficient Java Virtual Machine which has been integrated into the iLCDs' firmware. It runs on the existing iLCD hardware and can be upgraded by a simple firmware update.
The iLCD Manager XE, available for download at no charge, has been extended to also accommodate the Java development environment. As with other IDEs, comfortable Java code editing with syntax highlighting is possible and included. The Java application can be generated with the integrated compiler, and subsequently uploaded directly onto the display via the USB interface. An integrated debugger to enable remote debugging of the Java application directly on the display via USB has also been added. There is no additional software or hardware required for application develpment and iLCD operation.
